Local Devon Councils are changing
Local government in Devon is changing. The Government has decided that from April 2028, four new unitary councils will replace Devon’s existing councils and will deliver all services in their areas.

This will mean both Devon County Council and Torridge District Council will be replaced. Alwington Parish will fall within the new Devon Council area. The intention is that changes will make the system simpler, more connected, and better able to meet local needs. The new Devon Council will cover and provide all services currently offered by both Torridge District Council and Devon County Council. Alwington Parish Council will remain as your local Parish council.
