Help survey the churchyard

We are very lucky to have a wonderful team of volunteers who look after the churchyard and the Alwington Residents Association working group who have built the area around the Old Schoolroom into their planned works. This all helps to maintain a rich habitat for many plants, insects and mammals.

June 6th to 14th is Love your burial ground, National Churchyard week and Church Count on Nature week, we would like to collect information about what can be found in this area. Everyone can get involved, just allocate 15 minutes, pick up an observation record sheet from the church porch and see what you can find. You might choose to focus on plants, birds, trees or insects. When you have finished, put your observation sheet in the envelope in the church porch.

On Thursday June 11th at 4pm Alison and Hilary will be at the Old Schoolroom with some activities which will allow our children to get involved in this citizen science project.

This is just a small part of the work by the PCC to achieve the bronze award on the ECO church scheme.
